Race to the Skies with the Ozone Mach 1 Kiteboarding Kite
The Mach1 is your gateway to more powerful, longer, and higher-flying sessions—especially in light winds. Whether you’re boosting on a twin-tip or gliding fast on a foil, this kite redefines what’s possible for experienced riders.
We’ve re-tuned elements of race kite design to deliver massive lift, unmatched hangtime, and smooth power delivery, all while being more accessible than traditional race kites. Developed from the R1 V4 and Chrono DNA, the Mach1 sets a new standard in high-performance freeriding.
WHO IS IT FOR?
- Experienced foil kite riders seeking higher performance
- Big air twin-tip riders
- Freeride foilers wanting power, glide, and adaptability
PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS
- Massive Boosting: Effortless takeoff and extended hangtime, even in lighter winds
- Foil Adaptability: Seamless performance across foil sizes, with excellent low-end power
- Responsive & Stable: Direct yet forgiving handling, with exceptional depower
- Race Kite Efficiency: Inspired by the R1 V4, reimagined for freeride versatility
“The wind range is incredible—especially on the low end. You can throw down rotations in conditions where tube kites wouldn’t even fly.”
– Timo Becker, Ozone Ambassador, Germany
DESIGN & TUNING FEATURES
- High-Aspect Ratio: Improved efficiency and light wind performance
- Bridle System: 4-level bridle, sheathed lines, fewer attachment points for fast setup and durability
- Construction: Lightweight yet durable, with transverse sail shaping for smooth power
- Optimized for 17m or 21m Lines:
- 17m: More dynamic and direct, ideal for hydrofoiling and stronger wind jumping
- 21m: Greater power, smoother handling, and better low-end in lighter winds
SIZE RANGE & CHARACTERISTICS
| Size | Wind Range (80kg rider) | Bar Size |
|---|---|---|
| 7m | 11–29 knots | 50 cm |
| 9m | 9–26 knots | 50 cm |
| 11m | 8–23 knots | 50 cm |
| 13m | 7–20 knots | 55 cm |
| 15m | 6–18 knots | 55 cm |
| 18m | 5–15 knots | 55 cm |
Performance Sets:
- 15 & 18m – Light wind powerhouses with big air potential
- 11 & 13m – All-rounders for lightwind boosts and wide wind range
- 7 & 9m – Lower aspect Chrono-based shapes for high wind and agile hydrofoiling
RIDER FEEDBACK
“The 9 and 11m were my first foil kites, and I immediately noticed how much longer I stayed in the air. These kites totally change how I look at a 15-knot forecast. I now get amazing sessions in wind I used to ignore.”
– Jinne Boer, Ozone Ambassador, Netherlands
BRAKE LINE SETTINGS
Fine-tune your setup using three brake line options:
- Hydrofoil / Short Lines (upper knot) – Lower bar pressure, longer lift time
- All-Round (middle knot, factory setting) – Balanced performance and feel
- Twin-Tip (lower knot) – Increased bar pressure, sharper and more direct for big air
TECHNICAL INNOVATIONS
- New Valve System: Faster inflation, higher internal pressure for better relaunch
- Closed Cell Construction: Enhanced stability and reliability
- Brake Line Tuning: Three presets for different disciplines
MACH1 VS CHRONO: WHAT’S NEW?
| Feature | Mach1 | Chrono |
|---|---|---|
| Aspect Ratio | Higher | Moderate |
| Cell Count | More cells | Fewer cells |
| Turning Style | More power in turns | Pivotal, softer turns |
| Big Air | Better lift, hangtime | More all-round |
| Low-End Power | Greater efficiency | Good but not as powerful |
WHY MACH1 REPLACES CHRONO
As the R1 V5 evolves into a specialized hydrofoil racing kite, the Mach1 fills the freeride performance gap. It delivers big air potential with race kite power and freeride durability, offering a superior alternative to the Chrono in nearly all performance categories.
